Earlier this month, it was announced by HBO that the creators of Game of Thrones has signed on to do a new show, called Confederate. A show set in an alternate world where slavery never ended and the Civil War never occurred. Considering the track record of the two white male creators for Game of Thrones towards the Black characters on that show, most Black people have little confidence that they can handle such a sensitive subject.

  1. I don’t wanna watch slavery fanfiction either, so I’ll pass on this one. What sort of person thinks to themself: “What if slavery was never abolished? THAT’S what I want to write about!” Definitely a white supremacist’s fantasy. SMH at these HBO writers and producers.
